I am currently working as a Research Fellow in the Department of Telematic Systems Engineering (DIT) at ETSI Telecomunicación, Technical University of Madrid (UPM- Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), Spain.
I was born in Madrid Spain, 1962. I am Assistant Professor of DIT from March 1988 till today. I received the degree of Telecommunication Engineer from the in 1986. I received the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the UPM in 1991 working on the application of Formal Techniques to the performance evaluation of communication systems. Since 1988 i have been teaching duties in the field of Computer Science and Digital Communications at ETSI Telecomunicación
Currently I am part of the goverment of the Department in the charge of "Secretario de Departamento".
I am interested in subject related to data comunication and Formal description techniques, but have an special interest in the following research areas:

My experiences related to the design of data communication systems in the data handling part led to the interest in applying formal description techniques (FDT) to the design of such systems. I have had some responsibilities in different working packages in the OSI-95 Esprit 5341 project mainly in those regarding with the application of LOTOS FDT to high speed data network designs and performance evaluation.
Multimedia and QoS over satellite networks have been also key issues in my European research projects.
